Alberta Hunting News - Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Survey in Alberta for 2004
http://www3.gov.ab.ca/srd/fw/hunting/huntnews.html

We have updated all of the chronic wasting disease (CWD) information materials on the wildlife disease webpages http://www3.gov.ab.ca/srd/fw/diseases/CWD/index.html. On the site you will find a new poster, new map of target areas, new two-page brochure, and the news release as well as a capsule summary of the programs for 2004. Our target this year is at least 250 heads from each of three separate areas.

Switching to West Nile virus, we have posted a new Wildlife Information Bulletin that provides an overview of the general pattern of West Nile in Alberta this year, or more to the point, the lack of West Nile this year. It can be found at http://www3.gov.ab.ca/srd/fw/diseases/WNv/pdf/wib_wnv2004.pdf .

Plus there are a few news releases that may be of interest that include some information on Alberta fish and wildlife, including some from other departments:
